Unfortunately, as I make frequent updates, it is difficult for me to keep the whole site in two different languages. I hope this won’t be a problem for you.

Here is a hit-parade of the leisure activities and famous places to visit for the newly arrived.

To teach your children downhill skiing,  Lans en Vercors and St Hugues en Chartreuse will offer you a warm welcome ,much nicer than in the big ski stations.

If they are very young, you may prefer slide slopes at St Nizier du Moucherotte. The wide slide track is situated near the ski-lift in the center of the village.

The weather is cold or rainy ?  " Arc en Ciel"   is a place where small children (0-4) ,  with or without their parents, can try a wide range of original toys and activities, and where parents can meet, talk, and find information about childhood.

Another idea could be to visit the " Musée des Automates " in Lans en Vercors, especially before Christmas.

Don’t let spring end without a walk around the Charmant Som ! Wait until the 12-15 of May and you’ll have the surprise to see there thousands and thousands of yellow daffodils.

June is the best period for walks to places like the Cirque de St même, in the Regional Park of Chartreuse, before the summer migrations ! Children will probably be delighted to play in the torrent.

For those who prefer leisure parks, Walibi is opened from April to October.

When Grenoble is too hot , it is the right period to visit the most famous waterfalls, like La Blanche near Pont en Royans, the " gorges du Bruyant " near Engins, Laffrey lakes to swim in a beautiful landscape.

The highest peaks of the Oisans are not far away, and on easy walks like " refuge du Carrelet "or " refuge de l’alpe de Villard d’Arène " even small kids can meet chamois and marmots.

Choranche’s caves are opened all year long and the whole area is marvelous with autumn colors. The temperature is often higher than it is in Grenoble.

Autumn may be a good period for cycling with your children.
